other Ways To Help
Hey there, I’m Liliana, the 15-year-old founder of The Do Better Initiative Corporation (TDBIC)! I’m so glad you want to help us make a difference for girls, students, and foster teens in Brownsville and beyond. While donations are always amazing, there are so many other ways you can join our mission to do better. Here’s how you can get involved and help us grow!
1
spread the word
One of the biggest ways you can help is by sharing TDBIC with your friends, family, and followers! We really need help getting the word out, so telling people about our work can make a huge difference. Here are some easy ways to share:
-
Tell your friends and family about us and ask them to visit thedobetterinitiative.org to learn more.
-
Share our website on your social media (like X, Facebook, or Instagram) with a quick note about why you support us. Maybe mention how period kits keep refugee girls in school or how sensory kits help local kids thrive!
Every share helps us reach more people who might want to support our mission, so thank you for being our voice in the community!

Donate Items or share your Connections
We’re always looking for special items to include in our kits, and we’d love your help! We created a list where you can purchase items directly from Amazon and they ship right to us here at TDBIC. Or if you or someone you know makes things we can use, or if you have connections to groups who’d like to donate, here’s what we need:
-
For Period Kits: We send out kits with reusable pads, panties, clothespins, educational materials, and laundry supplies in a wet bag. If you’re part of a sewing club, we’d love for you to make reusable pads to mail to us (reach out for details!). Or, if you have a soap shop and want to donate soap scraps, those would be perfect for the kits!
-
For Sensory Regulation Kits: These kits help Brownsville kids with noise-canceling headphones, visual communication boards, weighted lap items, clock timers, and smaller sensory tools in a drawstring bag. If you make sensory items, like weighted items or communication boards, we’d be so grateful for your donations.
-
In-Kind Donations: Support us by donating essential items! We’ve created an Amazon wishlist with specific products that will directly benefit our initiatives. Click here to browse and purchase items, which will be shipped straight to us. Every contribution helps. Thank you! https://www.amazon.com/registries/gl/guest-view/1L9LOFNZHVFHI
If you have other ideas for items or know someone who might want to donate (like a local business or club), please email me at liliana@thedobetterinitiative.org, I’d love to chat!

Unite to Do Better – Fundraise Together!
I believe we can do better when we come together, and I’d love for neighborhoods and communities everywhere to unite for TDBIC! You can make a bigger impact by teaming up with friends, family, or neighbors to crowdfund or fundraise. Here are some ideas to get started:
-
Start a Crowdfunding Campaign: Gather your friends or family and create a crowdfunding page to support TDBIC. Every $8 helps us send a period kit to a girl in need, so imagine how many girls you could help by pooling your efforts! Share your campaign on social media with #TogetherWeDoBetter to inspire others to join in.
-
Host a Neighborhood Fundraiser: Work with your community to plan a fun event, like a block party, lemonade stand, or talent show, to raise funds for our kits. For example, a $200 fundraiser could fund 5 sensory kits to help Brownsville kids to learn and thrive. Let’s unite to make a difference together!
When we unite to do better, we can change even more lives, and I can’t wait to see what your community can do!
